Scott & White Healthcare Breaks Ground on $32M Pediatric Clinic

Temple, Texas-based Scott & White Healthcare announced the ground breaking of a $32 million multi-specialty pediatric clinic adjacent to McLane Children's Hospital Scott & White, also in Temple.

The 112,000-square-foot facility will offer outpatient and inpatient pediatric specialty services, consolidating most of the system's pediatric specialties in one location. The specialties include cardiology, pulmonology and pediatric surgery, among others.

The clinic will include the Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders Center and a pediatric neurosciences center. At 8,000 square feet, the cancer center will more than double the size of the current pediatric cancer center, and will feature two treatment rooms and nine infusion bays.

The neurosciences center will offer child psychiatry, neurology, neurosurgery, neuropsychology and child development services. In addition, the pediatric clinic will include specialty clinics for cystic fibrosis, cerebral palsy and cleft palate.

Overall, the facility will house 135 exam rooms, 13 treatment rooms, eight specialty rooms, a drive-through pharmacy, diagnostic imaging and laboratory services.

Construction is expected to take 14 months and the building is scheduled to open by the fall of 2013.
