11 Latest Hospital Expansions in Neuroscience, Pediatrics and Other Specialties

Here are 11 expansions in neuroscience, pediatrics and other specialties hospitals and health systems announced in the past month, beginning with the most recent announcement.

1. Penn State Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center opened its nearly $207 million new Penn State Hershey (Pa.) Children's Hospital.

2. Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital in Baltimore completed a $9 million renovation project.

3. Detroit Medical Center Children's Hospital of Michigan opened its new $1.1 million Children's Hospital of Michigan Specialty Center-Canton (Mich.).

4. Miami Children's Hospital opened two new outpatient centers, one in Miramar, Fla., and one in Miami.

5. Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City opened the Alfred and Norma Lerner Children's Pavilion, a new facility for treating children with musculoskeletal conditions.

6. HCA Virginia, the orthopedic practice OrthoVirginia and real estate developer Lingerfelt Companies, all based in Richmond, Va., opened a $25 million orthopedic and sports medicine facility.

7. State College, Pa.-based Mount Nittany Health opened its new Sieg Neuroscience Center.

8. Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., announced that neurologists from Chicago-based Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation created The Women's Neurology Center.

9. Community Medical Center in Missoula, Mont., opened its $17 million new Women's Health Center and neonatal intensive care unit.

10. Porter Regional Hospital in Valparaiso, Ind., opened its new Center for Women's Health.

11. Englewood, Colo.-based Centura Health opened a pediatric emergency care center at its Littleton (Colo.) Adventist Hospital, the result of a collaboration between Centura Health and Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children in Denver.
