Sunrise Children's Hospital in Las Vegas Implements Smoking Ban Policy

Sunrise Children's Hospital in Las Vegas has implemented a no-smoking policy on its hospital campus, according to a Las Vegas Review-Journal news report.

Effective July 1, an individual who even smells like cigarette smoke is not permitted inside the hospital, according to the news report. The new smoking policy was favored by 80 percent of hospital personnel. The hospital's no-smoking policy comes shortly after Gov. Brian Sandoval signed legislation that relaxes the state's voter-approved prohibition on public smoking.
