CHS Bids $100M for Ohio's Forum Health

Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems Inc. has offered $100 million to acquire Youngstown, Ohio-based Forum Health, outbidding Ardent Health Services, according to a Nashville Business Journal report.

CHS placed the bid on Monday, but the amount of the bid was only just disclosed. CHS trumps Ardent's $69.8 million bid for the three-hospital system.

CHS pursued the health system once before in 2006, but no deal was ever completed, according to the report.
