DeSoto Regional Health System Ends CEO Doug Efferson's Contract

DeSoto Regional Health System in Mansfield, La., has announced it will not renew CEO Doug Efferson's contract at the end of September, according to a Shreveport Times report.

DeSoto made the decision to not renew the contract so that the board can look in "other directions" as the system strives to remain viable in the current economic conditions, according to the report.

Prior to his two-year tenure at DeSoto, Mr. Efferson was the CEO of Homer Memorial Hospital.

The hospital board is searching for Mr. Efferson's replacement. In the interim, the senior leadership team is guiding operations, according to the report.
