CommonSpirit makes 25 executive moves in 2025

Chicago-based CommonSpirit Health, which operates 138 hospitals and more than 2,200 care sites across 24 states, has made multiple executive changes across the organization this year.

The following executive moves have been reported by Becker’s since Jan. 1:

1. Jacquelyn Bombard was appointed system senior vice president of government affairs at CommonSpirit.

2. Doug Kleam was appointed president of St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, Calif., and St. John’s Hospital Camarillo.

3. Tadren Kennedy was appointed COO of Dignity Health Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento, Calif. 

4. Michael Browning was appointed senior executive vice president and CFO of CommonSpirit, effective Jan. 2. Mr. Browning will succeed Daniel Morissette, who announced his retirement earlier this year.. 

5. Elizabeth Ortega was appointed president of St. Luke’s Health-The Vintage Hospital in Houston.

6. Mario Garner, EdD, was appointed president of Dignity Health East Valley.

7. Matt Brown was appointed president of CommonSpirit’s south region.

8. Mary Williams was appointed vice president of marketing and communications for CommonSpirit’s Central Region.

9. Phillip Chang, MD, was appointed system senior vice president, and chief medical and quality officer at CommonSpirit.

10. Austin Manning was appointed president and CEO of Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Sacramento, Calif.

11. Diana Glasser, MD, was appointed chief medical officer at Dignity Health – Northridge Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles.

12. Gene Gutierrez IV was appointed CFO of Community Hospital of San Bernardino and St. Bernardine Medical Center, both based in San Bernardino, Calif.

13. Heather Coleman, MSN, RN, was appointed chief nursing officer of CommonSpirit’s Northwest Region.

14. Scott Robertson, MD, was appointed system senior vice president of the Physician Enterprise, California Region, for CommonSpirit and CEO of Dignity Health Medical Foundation.

15. Robert Miller was appointed regional vice president of marketing and communications for Dignity Health in California.

16. Nicole Whims, MSN, RN, was appointed chief nursing officer of Dignity Health St. Bernadine Medical Center in San Bernardino, Calif.  

17. Steven Daniel was appointed president of St. Luke’s Health-Patients Medical Center in Pasadena, Texas.

18. Steven Foster, who was previously president of the Patients Medical Center, was appointed president and CEO of Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento, Calif.

19. Kyle Sims was appointed as the market vice president of ambulatory and post-acute services for St. Luke’s Health, overseeing the Houston, Brazos Valley, and East Texas markets.

20. Anjali Rao, MD, was appointed chief medical officer of Redwood City, Calif.-based Dignity Health Sequoia Hospital.

21. Charlotte Haisch, RN, was appointed COO of CommonSpirit’s home health division.

22. Stacey-Ann Okoth, PhD, DNP, was appointed chief nursing officer for the health system’s Mountain Region.

23. Crystal Bohannan was promoted to president of CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs (Ark.).

24. David Ziolkowski was appointed president and CEO of Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Stockton, Calif.

25. Kara Estenson, DNP, MSN, RN, joined Dignity Health as chief nurse executive and COO of Woodland (Calif.) Memorial Hospital.
