Mary Williams has been named vice president of marketing and communications for the Central region of Chicago-based CommonSpirit Health.

She joined the organization as a consultant in 2009, most recently serving as the Central region’s director of communications. Before going into healthcare, she worked as a broadcast journalist for KMTV, the CBS affiliate in Omaha, Neb.

“As a former journalist, Mary brings the heart of a storyteller to her work. She understands not just how to share information but how to connect our mission to the people we serve in powerful, human ways,” said Adam Rice, senior vice president and chief marketing officer of CommonSpirit Health, in a July 30 news release shared with Becker’s. “Her leadership will be instrumental in advancing our marketing and communications efforts across our region.”

CommonSpirit Health’s Central region includes hospitals in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska and North Dakota that are part of Omaha-based CHI Health and facilities in Arizona and Nevada that fall under the umbrella of San Francisco-based Dignity Health.

At the Becker's 11th Annual IT + Revenue Cycle Conference: The Future of AI & Digital Health, taking place September 14–17 in Chicago, healthcare executives and digital leaders from across the country will come together to explore how AI, interoperability, cybersecurity, and revenue cycle innovation are transforming care delivery, strengthening financial performance, and driving the next era of digital health.
