HCA Texas hospital CEO heads to CommonSpirit

Elizabeth Ortega has been appointed president of St. Luke’s Health-The Vintage Hospital in Houston, effective Oct. 13.

Ms. Ortega most recently served as a Gulf Coast Division vice president and Houston hospital CEO within Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare, according to an Oct. 6 hospital news release. She succeeds Mario Garner, EdD, who was named president of Dignity Health East Valley.

St. Luke’s Health, a member of Chicago-based CommonSpirit Health, includes eight inpatient hospitals in Greater Houston and employs more than 11,000 individuals and affiliated providers. 

In her new role, Ms. Ortega will be responsible for advancing growth, innovation and quality patient care across The Vintage Hospital.
