Appalachian Regional Healthcare Names Carmen Lacey President

Appalachian Regional Healthcare System, based in North Carolina, has announced Carmen Lacey, MSN, RN, as president of Cannon Memorial Hospital in Linville, N.C., effective April 1.

Ms. Lacey will take over Chuck Mantooth's duties as president while he remains CEO. Mr. Mantooth will also serve as president of ARHS' Watauga Medical Center in Boone, N.C.

Ms. Lacey began her healthcare career as a staff nurse at Sloop Memorial Hospital in Crossnore, N.C., in 1987. She worked numerous roles at Sloop until its merger with Cannon Memorial in 1999. She then became director of the medical/surgical unit, restorative care and the New Life Center. Most recently, she served as director of patient care services.
