Many of the nation’s largest health systems began 2026 with a flurry of clinical executive appointments.
Birmingham, Ala.-based UAB Health System and Gainesville, Fla.-based UF Health both named inaugural chief nursing officers. Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health and Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare also named new chief nurses.

John Lazarus, MSN, RN, was named chief nursing officer of AdventHealth DeLand (Fla). His appointment is effective Feb. 8.
Kristin Gardner, DNP, RN, was appointed chief nursing officer of OhioHealth Southeastern Medical Center.
Rachel Stanley, MD, was appointed physician in chief at Connectict Children’s in Hartford.
UF Health named Janice Walker, as inaugural chief nursing officer.
Goldsboro, N.C.-based UNC Health Wayne named Joel Rose, MD, chief medical officer, and Katie HIle, DNP, RN, as chief nurse.
Gelareh Zadeh, MD, PhD, was appointed the David C. and Flora C. Pratt Distinguished Chief Medical Officer of Mayo Clinic Platform — which is Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic’s digital health arm.
New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery appointedAnne Marie McDonald, EdD, RN, as chief nursing executive.
Trinity Health named Peggy Norton-Rosko, DNP, RN, senior vice president and chief nursing officer.
Cleveland-based University Hospitals selected Kristie Ross, MD, as chief medical officer of UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and the children’s market.
Lindsay Goldammer, RN, MSN, was named interim chief nursing officer of Belton (Mo.) Regional Medical Center — part of HCA Midwest Health.
HCA Healthcare named longtime nursing leader Erica Rossitto, BSN, RN, as senior vice president and chief nurse executive.
Danville, Ind.-based Hendricks Regional Health appointed Jill Payne, DNP, RN, as chief nursing officer.
Jose Rosado, MD, was named chief medical officer of AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach (Fla).
Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Health Network appointed chief medical officers for two hospitals: Saad Mahmood, DO, was appointed chief medical officer of AHN Allegheny General Hospital. Giath Shari, MD, was named chief medical officer of AHN Forbes Hospital in Monroeville, Pa.
UAB Health System selected Terri Poe, DNP, to serve as inaugural chief nursing executive.
Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Mo. named Sabrina Kidd, MD, chief medical officer. The 285-bed hospital is part of HCA Healthcare.
Joe Kim, MD, was named chief medical officer of Burbank, Calif.-based Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center.
Niagara Falls (N.Y.) Memorial Medical Center appointed Susan Brooks, BSN, RN, as executive vice president and chief nursing officer.
Kosciusko, Miss.-based Baptist Memorial Hospital-Attala named Allison Schuler, MSN, CEO and chief nursing officer.
HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce named Neva Spencer, DNP, RN, as chief nursing officer.
Rebekah Artman, BSN, RN, was named chief nursing officer of Harris Regional Hospital and Swain Community Hospital in North Carolina. Both facilities are part of Brentwood, Tenn.-based Duke LifePoint Healthcare.
Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, Tenn., named Michele Hasselblad, DNP, RN, chief nursing officer.
Oscar Lahoud, MD, was named chief medical officer of NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn.
Methodist Fremont (Neb.) Health appointed Michele Williams, MD, as chief medical officer.
