John Lazarus, MSN, RN, has been named chief nursing officer of AdventHealth DeLand (Fla). His appointment is effective Feb. 8.
Mr. Lazarus brings more than 30 years of experience in nursing and healthcare leadership, spanning emergency, inpatient and ambulatory settings. He began his career as a bedside emergency department nurse and has held multiple leadership roles within Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based AdventHealth, according to a Jan. 28 news release.
Most recently, Mr. Lazarus served as executive director of ambulatory services for AdventHealth’s East Florida Division, where he helped integrate ambulatory surgery centers, strengthen physician partnerships and expand access to care.
He succeeds Michele Lebron, DNP, RN, who was recently named CNO of AdventHealth Lake Nona, a $423 million hospital slated to open later this year.
AdventHealth DeLand is a 164-bed hospital.
