Centura Health implements new pricing strategies to meet population health needs

Englewood Colo.-based Centura Health is putting a number of pricing strategies into place, including collaborating with insurers to align contracted rates for many outpatient service lines to those generally offered my freestanding facilities, with a focus on meeting population health needs.

Centura has already aligned the billed charges structure for MRI, CT, mammogram and ultrasound with those of freestanding alternatives in the Colorado metro area and in Colorado Springs.

"It is our responsibility to implement viable strategies that address the rising costs of healthcare to ensure consumers continue to have access to convenient, high-quality care," said Gary Campbell, president and CEO of Centura.

The 15-hospital system will also be partnering with Colorado HealthOP, Anthem and Humana to offer consumers more affordable health insurance options through Colorado Health Insurance Exchange.
