Tift Regional Health System celebrated the halfway mark of its construction of a replacement facility for Adel, Ga.-based Cook Medical Center, according to WALB News.
The 120,000-square-foot building will hold 20 beds and aims to bring more specialites into the area.
"So our current facility was built in the [19]50s, and the infrastructure in that facility had become obsolete, and so it’s a capital expense to keep an older building operational for healthcare services," said Michael Purvis, CEO of Cook Medical Center.
The facility is expected to be completed in October.
