West Virginia University Hospitals-East Rebrands With New Name

West Virginia University Hospitals-East in Martinsburg announced new names and logos for the health system and its two hospitals to reflect improvements in technology, additional specialists and expanded services.

WVUH-East is part of WVU Hospitals in Morgantown, which is part of Morgantown-based WVU Healthcare. WVUH-East changed its name to University Healthcare to continue to reflect its affiliation with WVU Hospitals while highlighting its full range and quality of services as a health system.

WVUH-East changed the name of its Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va., to Jefferson Medical Center and the name of its City Hospital in Martinsburg to Berkeley Medical Center to communicate their growth in services and quality.

The health system has invested $100 million over the past eight years in physician recruitment, expansion of services, quality improvement and the patient experience, according to the news release.
