Catholic Health makes deal to expand orthopedics — 5 details

Buffalo, N.Y.-based Catholic Health is the latest health system to strike a deal expanding its orthopedic service line, according to Buffalo Business First.

Five details:

1. Buffalo Orthopaedic Group joined Trinity Medical WNY, which is Catholic Health's affiliated physician practice network.

2. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

3. Three practice partners — Paul Lapoint, DO; John Karpie, MD; and Thaddeus Szarzanowicz, MD — made the transition, along with hand specialist Robert Brown, MD, and podiatry specialist Dr. Jessica Nowak.

4. Several staff members and advanced practice providers also joined Buffalo-based Trinity Medical WNY.

5. Buffalo Orthopaedic Group will keep its Williamsville, N.Y., and Hamburg, N.Y., offices open under the name Trinity Medical Orthopedics.
