Columbia Memorial Hospital Receives $2.4M Grant, Considers Purchasing Greene Medical Arts Center

Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson, N.Y., intends to put a $2.4 million grant toward potentially buying and renovating the Greene Medical Arts building in Jefferson Heights, N.Y., according a Daily Mail report.

The grant — received through New York's Health Care Efficiency and Affordability Law — will allow CMH to provide a new comprehensive and diagnostic treatment center which is expected to provide increased diagnostic imaging, primary care and specialty care, including orthopedics and women's health. According to the report, hospital officials believe the GMA building would be ideal for such a robust renovation. In addition, the building is near the hospital's Kaaterskill Care and Rehabilitation Center in Catskill, N.Y.

According to the report, a group of independent physicians owns the GMA building. If CMH cannot purchase the building, other locations would be considered.
