Rowan Regional Medical Center Wants a PCP in Every Town in Region

Salisbury, N.C.-based Rowan Regional Medical Center is aiming to provide a primary care physician to every town in its region, according to a Salisbury Post report.

Dari Caldwell, the president of Rowan Regional, is hosting a series of town hall meetings in the region to drum up local support for more primary care. Ms. Caldwell wants all towns the hospital serves to have at least one primary care physician affiliate. Several area towns have no physician in affiliation with the medical center.

"It's important to not just stay shut up in the walls of the hospital but get out into communities and try to make a difference," Ms. Caldwell said at the first of ten scheduled town halls in East Caldwell, a community within Regional Medical's service area.
