Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare appointed Michael W. Michelson to its board of directors as an independent director.

1. Mr. Michelson has worked at KKR, a global investment firm, since 1981.
2. Prior to that, he worked at Latham & Watkins, a law firm.
3. He previously served as a HCA director from 2006 to 2016.
4. Now, he will also serve as a member of HCA's Audit and Compliance Committee and Finance and Investments Committee.
5. With the addition of Mr. Michelson, HCA's board has jumped to 12 members.
