Question: What one strategic initiative will demand the most of your time and energy in 2019?

Joseph Cooke: Implementation of Tele-psychiatry for our In-Patient services.

Q: Healthcare takes a lot of heat for not innovating quickly. What's your take on this?

JC: There has been tremendous innovation in Healthcare. Adoption has been a limiting factor. Healthcare policy, re-imbursement, and culture need to catch up to the pace of innovation.

Q: Can you share some praise with us about people you work with? What does greatness look like to you when it comes to your team?

JC: Just last week we celebrated our Hospitalist of the year, one of our physicians being accepted into the Hospital’s Leadership Program, and one of our Division Chiefs being elected into her specialty society clinical scholars program. Greatness is when our team has created processes that recognized and adopted across our enterprise.
