Ruth W. Brinkley Returning to Kentucky to Head KentuckyOne Health

Ruth W. Brinkley has been named CEO of KentuckyOne Health, the organization created from the recent merger of Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's HealthCare and Saint Joseph Health System, according to a Courier-Journal report.

Ms. Brinkley has been serving in an advocacy role with Carondelet Health Network's parent company, Ascension Health. Prior to that appointment, she served as president and CEO of Carondelet Health. Officials have not yet determined where KentuckyOne Health's headquarters will be located.

Last week, Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's HealthCare and Saint Joseph Health System announced they official merged, creating the new entity KentuckyOne Health. The original merger plans included University Hospital in Louisville as part of the proposed deal, but that plan was rejected by Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear.
