HRSA to assess EHR adoption of grantees

The Health Resources and Services Administration released a notice in the Federal Register of its plans to seek progress reports from Health Center Controlled Networks programs on their EHR adoption progress.

HCCNs are groups of safety net providers that work together to improve access to care and care quality through a grant program funded by the HHS' HRSA.

According to the notice in the Federal Register, the progress reports will describe each HCCN's progress in achieving key activity goals, including performance improvement using data-driven improvement activities and data exchange. Additionally, HCCNs would report new needs, challenges, lessons learned and best practices.

"In addition to meeting the goal of accountability to Congress, patients and the general public, information collected from the progress reports are critical for HRSA grantees and individual providers to assess the status of existing EHR systems and health outcomes for patients," reads the notice.
