GE Healthcare to sponsor AHIP Innovation Lab

GE, health IT vendor Emdeon, global consulting firm Accenture, biopharmaceutical company Amgen and a fifth company AHIP has not named have pledged an undisclosed financial amount to support the lab, which is based in Chicago. A sixth company, multimedia house AnswersMedia, will serve as a strategic partner and host the lab, according to MedCity News.

Although the space includes technology such as a professional video studio with a green screen, virtual sets, audio recording booths, production kitchen for filming cooking segments on eating healthy and a gym, the lab also serves as a space to test out new business models and strategies, according to the report.

The lab is reinforced with a server room equipped with a secure cloud, conference rooms with telepresence technology and reconfigurable workspaces. Users are encouraged to snap photos of tabletop diagrams and lists to upload to the cloud, according to the report.
