Fisher-Titus Medical Center to receive CommonWell services

Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk, Ohio, has signed up to receive CommonWell Health Alliance services for interoperability.

Fisher-Titus, which operates on a Cerner EHR, will be able to access medical records from outside healthcare organizations that participate in CommonWell with patient permission. The services are expected to go live in July, according to a news release.

The medical center operates a 99-bed acute care hospital with a Level III Trauma Center, a 69-bed skilled nursing facility, a 48-unit assisted living facility, a home health center and outpatient services. The hospital became the first all-digital "smart" community hospital in the U.S. after partnering with Cerner to implement a fully integrated EHR platform, according to the news release.

The services offered by CommonWell include patient identification and linking, record location and retrieval through a virtual table of contents, patient access, privacy and consent management and trusted data access through authentication portals, according to the news release.
