Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi to be Nearly Completely Digital

When Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi opens next year, it will be among the first in the world to be nearly completely digital, according to a report from The National.

In a recent lecture, Marc Harrison, MD, CEO of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, discussed the future and vision of the new facility, including its plans to go digital.

"We will have almost no paper in the entire hospital," Dr. Harrison said in his lecture, according to the report. "The fact that a unified medical record is going to exist will provide seamless communication, which means there is an opportunity for us to communicate back and forth with the main campus and elsewhere in the healthcare system without having the patient have the responsibility of carrying paper."

Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi stands 24-stories tall and will have more than 360 beds and 26 surgical suites.
