Hospitals using NextGen tool urged to fix vulnerability

Healthcare facilities that use NextGen HealthCare's open-source data integration tool Mirth Connect have been urged to apply updates due to a flaw that could be exploited and compromise data, SC Media reported Oct. 26.

The remote code execution flaw, which is being tracked as CVE-2023-43208, affects all versions of Mirth Connect. More than 2,200 MirthConnect platforms were shown to be vulnerable to CVE-2023-43208, according to SC Media.

The bug could enable "arbitrary command execution on the hosting server," the SC Media report said.
