Main Line Health opens new pavilion at Riddle Hospital, key piece of $327M capital project

In one of the largest capital investments made by Radnor Township, Pa.-based Main Line Health, a new five-story, 230,000-square-foot pavilion, featuring modern surgical suites and maternity facilities, opened July 11 at Riddle Hospital, according to a hospital news release.

A pivotal part of a $327 million modernization project at Media, Pa.-based Riddle, which broke ground in 2020, the new building is the largest improvement ever made to the 60-year-old hospital.

In addition to 10 modern surgical suites and maternity facilities, the pavilion adds 76 private patient rooms to Riddle's capacity.

"The new maternity suites and neonatal intensive care unit will allow Riddle to care for 1,800 births a year, an increase of more than half," the release said.

"This is a facility that matches the quality of our people. It brings them all the tools and capabilities necessary to deliver safe, high-quality and equitable care," Jack Lynch, president and CEO of Main Line Health, said.

Renovations to Riddle's existing intensive care unit and other support areas are expected to be completed by summer 2024.
