American Family Children's Hospital in Wisconsin Plans $32M Expansion

American Family Children's Hospital, a UW Health facility in Madison, Wis., has announced a 10-year, $32 million strategic expansion plan.

The first phase of the strategic plan will add 26 critical care beds as well as imaging and heart services at the children's hospital. Nearly half of the news beds will go to a new surgical neonatal intensive care unit, and the remaining 12 beds will be for pediatric intensive care patients, though they could be adjusted during high-volume periods for any level of care.

Construction is expected to begin later this year, with completion scheduled in 2014.
