Chief Communications and Marketing Officer

UCLA Health now seeks an experienced, innovative and collaborative communications and marketing expert to lead the health system’s communication and marketing strategies, initiatives and efforts.

Reporting to the Vice Chancellor, Health Sciences and Dean, David Geffen School of Medicine, as well as to the President, UCLA Health, the Chief Communications and Marketing Officer (CCMO) will lead a strategic and integrated communications and marketing function that promotes, supports and elevates the reputation of the entire health system.  Serving as a member of the UCLA Health leadership team, the CCMO will drive branding efforts, define and deliver messaging that enhances organizational success, offer proactive counsel regarding media, public relations, and crisis management, and build a strong, collaborative team that develops effective, efficient and standardized approaches to internal communications for the organization.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive and relevant industry experience with a proven record of accomplishment in communications and/or marketing.
  • Superb communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated success collaborating, influencing, and driving change within a complex organization.
  • The ability to build and lead cohesive and effective teams.
  • Deep expertise in developing digital and social media strategies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field; an advanced degree preferred.
