Oak Street Health adds president, executive medical director to Indiana division

Chicago-based Oak Street Health — a network of primary care centers for Medicare patients in medically-underserved communities — appointed Brian Clem as president of Oak Street Health Indiana and Mark Bustamante, MD, as executive medical director of Oak Street Health Indiana Feb. 6.

The two executives will lead the expansion of coordinated partnerships with Indiana health systems, insurance companies and the Indiana government to improve access to care for medically underserved communities.

Mr. Clem previously spearheaded Oak Street Health's expansion into Indiana during his tenure as regional vice president of the network. Prior to his roles at Oak Street, Mr. Clem served as the director of Medicare markets for Indianapolis-based IU Health.

Dr. Bustamante joined Oak Street Health in 2016 as a regional medical director. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, a member of the American Academy of Pain Medicine and serves on the board of the Indiana Geriatric Society.

"[Mr. Clem] and Dr. Bustamante are deeply committed to making a lasting impact on the Indiana community," said Oak Street Health CEO Mike Pykosz. "Their leadership has helped support the growth and development of quality healthcare for people in need. Their tireless dedication to improving patient outcomes embodies Oak Street Health's mission to make healthcare more coordinated, community-based and patient-centered."
