Kaleida Health welcomes new pediatric chief-of-service

Buffalo, N.Y.-based Kaleida Health tapped Steven E. Lipshultz, MD, to serve as pediatric chief-of-service.

In addition, Dr. Lipshultz will serve as:

• The A. Conger Goodyear Professor and chair of the pediatrics department at the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
• President of Buffalo-based UBMD Pediatrics
• Medical director of pediatrics services business development for Oishei Children's Hospital in Buffalo.

Dr. Lipshultz is currently the Carman and Ann Adams Endowed Chair of Pediatric Research at Detroit-based Wayne State University School of Medicine and Children's Hospital of Michigan in Detroit. He was previously pediatrician-in-chief at Children's Hospital of Michigan and specialist-in-chief, pediatrics at the Detroit Medical Center.

Dr. Lipshultz has served as principal investigator for numerous National Institutes of Health studies on pediatric cardiomyopathy. He has also chaired the cardiomyopathy working group for the World Health Organization's Global Burden of Disease project. He will be the founding editor-in-chief of a new journal, Cardio-Oncology.
