New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health named Richard R. Barakat, MD, physician-in-chief and director of the Northwell Health Cancer Institute and senior vice president of the health system's cancer service line.
Dr. Barakat will also serve as professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell in Hempstead, N.Y.

1. Dr. Barakat will assume his new roles at Northwell April 30, following 27 years at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
2. Most recently, he served as director and vice chair of Memorial Sloan Kettering's regional care network and affiliations as well as the Ronald O. Perelman Chair in Gynecologic Surgery.
3. He has authored or co-authored more than 340 cancer-based research studies.
