The American Society of Anesthesiologists named Alex Hannenberg, MD, interim chief quality officer.
Here are three things to know about Dr. Hannenberg.
1. At ASA, Dr. Hannenberg will head the organization's quality and practice advancement division "to more effectively support ASA members in addressing emerging challenges related to value-based payment practice improvement," among other duties, according to a news release.
2. He previously served ASA in various capacities, including president, head of the committee on economics and vice president for professional affairs on the administrative council.
3. Currently, Dr. Hannenberg serves as a clinical professor of anesthesiology at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston.
