To expand globally, Harley Davidson thinks smaller

Harley Davidson will roll out out a new growth plan that will include an expanded line of lighter motorcycles and smaller, urban stores that will increase the company's international footprint, according to CNBC.

New middleweight bikes will launch in 2020 and even smaller bikes will be available for emerging Asian markets.

"We're going to be doubling down on existing products. We're going to invest in an all-new middleweight platform, which is a modular chassis and a very core engine technology to go in three dramatically different spaces: adventure touring, custom and street fighter," Harley Davidson CEO Matt Levatich told CNBC.

In an effort to appeal to Chinese and Indian markets, Harley Davidson will  roll out its first electric bike next year. More models are coming through 2022.
