Hospitals Can Preview Corrected Data for 6 Quality Measures Starting Aug. 16

Hospitals in the inpatient quality reporting program can preview corrected data for six measures starting Aug. 16 at QualityNet.org, according to an AHA News Now report.

Hospitals will have 30 days to preview corrected data for five readmission measures — heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, hip and knee replacement and hospital-wide readmissions — and one complications measure — hip and knee replacement complications.

CMS suppressed these measures on Hospital Compare in July due to an issue with categorizing hospitals as better, worse or no different than the national average, according to the report. CMS plans to report these measures on Hospital Compare in October.
