Certification Commission Seeking Candidates to Serve on Board of Trustees and Board of Commissioners

The Certification Commission for Health Information Technology, which has recently been approved to be a review body for healthcare information technology testing and certification, is looking for senior executive working in the healthcare industry to serve as trustees and commissioners on its boards, according to a CCHIT news release.

CCHIT's Board of Trustees includes nine members who are be responsible for oversight of fiscal management, assets, organizational strategy, evaluation of senior management and resolving conflicts of interest involving CCHIT's management and its Board of Commissioners. Trustees serve three-year terms, with three terms expiring this year.

The Board of Commissioners includes 19 members that are charged with overseeing the development of its independently developed criteria by voluntary multi-stakeholder work groups, providing strategic direction and ensuring the objectivity and credibility of CCHIT. Commissioners serve staggered two-year terms. Currently, 10 positions are open on the board.
