Health technology company ModMed has been awarded a patent by the U.S. government to protect the functionality of its EHR system.
"This patent solidifies our position in the EHR market for physicians seeking technology designed to make their lives easier," ModMed co-founder and CEO Dan Cane said in a Nov. 10 ModMed news release.
The patent comes after the company paid $45 million to settle a lawsuit from the U.S. Justice Department accusing the company of illegally providing kickbacks.
