Nurse-midwife delivers 5,000th baby at Massachusetts hospital

A nurse-midwife at Brockton (Mass.) Hospital celebrated a special milestone last month: delivering her 5,000th baby, reports CBS Boston News.

Dianne Quadros has been practicing as a nurse-midwife for 30 years and keeps detailed records of each birth. Last month, she delivered baby No. 5,000, Benjamin Moynihan, whose parents nicknamed him "Benny 5,000."

"As of now I'm at 5,011," Ms. Quadros told CBS Boston News. "I'm hoping to get another 1,000. I've got at least another 10-year plan."

Shortly after delivering Benjamin, Ms. Quadros also recorded her first second-generation birth, meaning she delivered the baby of a woman she also delivered.
