Mississippi Bill Requiring Providers to Video Record All Surgical Procedures Rejected by Health Committee

A Mississippi House bill that would have required healthcare providers to video record all surgical procedures has been rejected by the House Public Health and Human Services Committee and the Judiciary A Committee.

Specifically, the bill would have required that all surgical procedures performed by physicians or other healthcare providers be recorded with a video device. In addition, video evidence would have been required to be maintained for at least four years. Patients would have been able to obtain a copy upon request.

That bill was related to the House Public Health and Human Services Committee and the Judiciary A Committee, which shot the proposal down.
