The program includes three VR training modules simulating real-world operating room scenarios to help surgeons, nurses and medical residents practice select orthopedic procedures. The Johnson & Johnson Institute has deployed 50 of these VR training systems to the company’s sites in Brazil, Germany, China and Japan, along with its location in Massachusetts.
“Our new VR training is part of our growing digital ecosystem, and will help drive greater standardization in surgical procedures and ultimately transform the way professional education impacts patient care,” Sandra Humbles, vice president of global education solutions at Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices Companies, said in a June 6 statement.
