Here are the new leadership positions hospitals and health systems have recently added:

June to August
1. Omaha-based Nebraska Medicine appointed Michael Hasselberg, PhD, RN, as its inaugural chief transformation and digital officer.
2. Baptist Health of Northeast Florida in Jacksonville appointed Eric Fletcher executive vice president and chief strategy officer, a newly developed role.
3. St. Cloud, Minn.-based CentraCare appointed Zach Bork as its inaugural chief strategy and transformation officer.
4. Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based AdventHealth selected Bela Nand, MD, as the first regional chief medical officer for its mid-America region.
5. Memphis, Tenn.-based Baptist Memorial Health Care’s BestHealth Employee Wellbeing Program appointed Lia Lansky as the inaugural chief well-being officer.
6. Memphis, Tenn.-based Baptist Memorial Health Care’s BestHealth Employee Wellbeing Program appointed Jake Lancaster, MD, as the inaugural chief medical officer.
7. New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System appointed Debra Jaeger, MSN, RN, as its first chief revenue officer.
8. Children’s Mercy Kansas City (Mo.) appointed Dave Henriksen as its inaugural executive vice president and chief transformation officer.
February to May
9. Iowa City-based UI Health Care appointed Bevan Yueh, MD, as its inaugural chief physician executive. Dr. Yueh is vice dean for clinical affairs at the University of Minnesota Medical School and chief executive officer of University of Minnesota Physicians, both based in Minneapolis.
10. Springfield, Ill.-based Memorial Health appointed Drew Early to serve as its inaugural COO. Mr. Early has held several administrative roles since joining the organization in 2006.
11. Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, appointed Maitreya Coffey, MD, to serve as its inaugural chief quality officer. Most recently, Dr. Coffey was associate chief medical officer for quality and medical affairs at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.
12. NYC Health + Hospitals appointed Kenra Ford as senior vice president of clinical services operations, a newly created role. Ms. Ford joined the organization a decade ago as assistant vice president of laboratories.
13. NYC Health + Hospitals appointed Divya Pathak as vice president and its inaugural chief data and artificial intelligence officer. Ms. Pathak previously served as chief data officer.
14. Charlottesville-based University of Virginia appointed Mark Esser, PhD, as the inaugural chief scientific officer and head of the upcoming Paul and Diane Manning Institute of Biotechnology. The 350,000-square-foot, four-story Manning Institute is under construction.
15. Charlottesville, Va.-based UVA Health Children’s appointed Cindy Bo as its inaugural chief. Ms. Bo joined UVA Health Children’s from Boston Medical Center Health System, where she served as senior vice president and chief strategy officer.
16. San Francisco-based UCSF Health appointed Jinoos Yazdany, MD, as its inaugural executive director of AI monitoring in clinical care. She is tasked with monitoring how AI is being used by clinicians.
17. Gainesville, Fla.-based UF Health appointed John Phipps, MD, as its inaugural chief clinical officer. Dr. Phipps joined UF Health from Falls Church, Va.-based Inova Health System, where he most recently served as chief care transformation officer.
18. Sacramento, Calif.-based Sutter Health appointed Matthew Solomon, MD, PhD, as the inaugural chief scientific officer. Dr. Solomon, a cardiologist and scientist, previously served as a premier physician-scientist at Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser
December and January
19. McLaren Health Care appointed Crystal Arthur, MD, its inaugural chief medical director of emergency services for the Grand Blanc, Mich.-based system. Previously, Dr. Arthur served as chief of the emergency medicine department at multiple hospitals within Detroit Medical Center.
20. Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai appointed Mouneer Odeh its first chief data and artificial intelligence officer. Most recently, Mr. Odeh was vice president of analytics at Fairfax, Va.-based Inova Health System and previously held data analytics roles at Philadelphia-based Jefferson Health and Quest Diagnostics.
21. New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health selected David Chung, MD, PhD, as the inaugural system chief of multiple myeloma and director of clinical research at Northwell Health Cancer Institute. Dr. Chung previously served as director of adult stem-cell transplantation and cancer immunotherapy fellowships at New York City-based Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
22. WVU Medicine Jackson General Hospital in Ripley, W.Va., appointed Holly Hill-Reinert, MD, chief medical officer, a first for the system. Dr. Hill-Reinert will continue practicing internal medicine and pediatrics, in addition to her new duties.
23. Sayre, Pa.-based Guthrie appointed its inaugural chief academic officer, Jean Miner, MD. Dr. Miner began the role Jan. 2.
24. Raj Mitra, MD, was appointed to the first-time dual role of chief academic officer of Premier Health and dean of the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine, both based in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Mitra stepped into the role in March.
