Pennsylvania system names 1st chief academic officer

Sayre, Pa.-based Guthrie has appointed its inaugural chief academic officer, Jean Miner, MD, effective Jan. 2.

A fellowship-trained minimally invasive general surgeon, Dr. Miner has held various roles at Guthrie, according to a news release. These include serving as associate designated institutional official and later as the designated institutional official.

She also oversees Guthrie’s Continuing and Medical Education Departments.

Guthrie operates multiple hospitals, including its flagship facility, Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital.
