32 recent hospital, health system executive moves

The following hospital and health system executive moves have been reported by Becker's since Dec. 30:

1. Neva Spencer, DNP, MSN, was named chief nursing officer of HCA Florida University Hospital in Davie.

2. Scott Cihak, president and CEO of HCA's Nashville, Tenn.-based TriStar Centennial Medical Center, resigned. 

3. Olevia Pitts, MD, chief medical officer of HCA's Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo., left her role Jan. 3 to take a senior leadership role outside the organization.

4. Ashley McClellan is leaving her role as CEO of HCA's Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo., effective March 1.

5. Brooke Baldwin, DNP, RN, was named vice president and chief nursing executive for Portland-based Oregon Health & Science University.

6. Fahad Tahir was named president and CEO of Nashville, Tenn.-based Ascension Saint Thomas.

7. Sheila Miller, DNP, RN, was named chief nursing officer at Cleveland Clinic London. 

8. Maria Brennan, DNP, RN, was named chief nursing officer of Newark, N.J.-based University Hospital.

9. Stacie Mason was named senior vice president and CFO of Topeka, Kan.-based Stormont Vail Health. 

10. The Rev. Leah Gunning Francis, PhD, was named senior vice president and chief mission and values officer of Indianapolis-based Indiana University Health.

11. Sam Muse was named CFO of Juneau, Alaska-based Bartlett Regional Hospital.

12. Tim Adams was named regional operating officer and senior vice president for St. Louis-based Ascension.

13. Howard Chrisman, MD, was named CEO of Chicago-based Northwestern Memorial HealthCare.

14. Ashis Barad, MD, was promoted to chief information and digital officer of Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Health Network.

15. Courtnay Caufield, DNP, RN, was named chief nursing officer of Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital in Los Angeles.

16. Sonya Selhorst was promoted to permanent president of Mercy Health-Defiance (Ohio) Hospital. 

17. Andrew Morgan was promoted to permanent president of Mercy Health-Tiffin (Ohio) Hospital and Mercy Health-Willard (Ohio) Hospital.

18. Brian Sanders, MD, was named chief medical officer of Portsmouth (N.H.) Regional Hospital.

19. David Guzick, MD, PhD, was selected as chancellor of LSU Health Shreveport (La.).

20. Peter Markell was named vice president and CFO of Providence, R.I.-based Lifespan.

21. Michael Backus is the new president and CEO of Oswego (N.Y.) Health.

22. Ryan Simpson is the new CEO of Methodist Hospital in San Antonio. 

23. Jim Dietsche is stepping down as executive vice president and CFO of Green Bay, Wis.-based Bellin Health.

24. Oliver Rhine, a longtime leader at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, was promoted to senior vice president and chief strategy officer.

25. Don Caruso, MD, president and CEO of Keene, N.H.-based Cheshire Medical Center, will retire in May.

26. Steve Dietlin, CEO of Oceanside, Calif.-based Tri-City Medical Center, plans to retire in March.

27. Carole Peet, MSN, RN, is leaving her role as president and CEO of Yakima (Wash.) Valley Memorial.

28. Joe Hugar is no longer president and CEO of Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, Ky.

29. Sunaina Kumar-Giebel was selected as interim director of the Glendale, Colo.-based VA Rocky Mountain Network.

30. Dr. Anand Budi was promoted to chief medical officer of Hagerstown, Md.-based Meritus Medical Center.

31. Laurie Morrow Neely, MSN, APRN, was named chief nursing officer of Vicksburg, Miss.-based Merit Health River Region.

32. Marilyn Riley, DNP, was named vice president and chief nursing officer of Baptist Health Paducah (Ky.).
