HCA hospital in Florida names chief nursing officer

HCA Florida University Hospital in Davie appointed Neva Spencer, DNP, MSN, as chief nursing officer, the organization said Jan. 6.

In her new role, Dr. Spencer will oversee nursing practice, education and development for the 165-bed hospital, which is part of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare.

She has more than 35 years of nursing and leadership experience, most recently serving as associate chief nursing officer for HCA’s Wesley Healthcare in Wichita, Kan.

Dr. Spencer will step into her new role Jan. 9, according to a news release shared with Becker’s.
