New York’s Oswego Health names CEO

Michael Backus is the new president and CEO of Oswego (N.Y.) Health.

Mr. Backus succeeds Michael Harlovic, who retired, according to a Jan. 4 news release. 

Previously, Mr. Backus served as COO and executive vice president of Oswego Health. 

According to the release, his corporate leadership team includes: 

  • Eric Campbell, executive vice president and CFO 
  • Duane Tull, MD, executive vice president of medicine and chief medical officer 
  • Jamie Leszczynski, senior vice president of communications and chief brand officer 
  • Kathryn Pagliaroli, BSN, RN, senior vice president of clinical operations and chief nursing officer 
  • Billy Barlow, vice president of public affairs and system development 
  • Marquand Brown, vice president of human resources and chief people officer 
  • Kim Dec, vice president of practice operations and executive director of Physician Care 
  • Valerie Favata, MSN, RN, vice president and administrator of Oswego Health Home Care
  • Theresa Fitzgibbons, RN, vice president of quality care and safety
  • David Ruel, vice president of ancillary services 
  • Barry Ryle, vice president of information systems and CIO 
  • Micheal Stephens, MD, associate chief medical officer
