Dr. Barad had been chief digital officer of the Highmark Health subsidiary since May.

As part of the new role, which he assumed in late December, he will oversee Epic EHR and IT strategy and maintenance for the health system on top of his existing digital and virtual health leadership duties.

He had previously been a digital health executive at Dallas-based Baylor White & Scott Health after working as a pediatric gastroenterologist.

At the Becker's 11th Annual IT + Revenue Cycle Conference: The Future of AI & Digital Health, taking place September 14–17 in Chicago, healthcare executives and digital leaders from across the country will come together to explore how AI, interoperability, cybersecurity, and revenue cycle innovation are transforming care delivery, strengthening financial performance, and driving the next era of digital health.
