38 recent hospital, health system executive moves

The following hospital and health system executive moves have been reported by or shared with Becker's since Jan. 13:

1. Gretchen McCullough, MSN, RN, will become the new chief nursing officer of Nashville, Tenn.-based Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.

2. Tom Bartiromo was appointed CIO of West Reading, Pa.-based Tower Health.

3. Shefali Mookencherry, former chief information security officer of Warrenville, Ill.-based Edward-Elmhurst Health, will join University of Illinois at Chicago in the same role Jan. 23.

4. Cathy Edmisten, RN, was named CEO of HCA Florida South Shore Hospital in Sun City Center. 

5. David Roberts, MD, was named senior vice president of community operations for Boston-based Mass General Brigham.

6. Roxanne Ruppel was selected as Salem (Mass.) Hospital's next president.

7. Ellen Moloney was named president and COO of Newton (Mass.)-Wellesley Hospital.

8. Elaine Cox, MD, was named chief physician executive for Indianapolis-based Riley Children's Health.

9. John Harding was named COO of Indianapolis-based Riley Children's Health.

10. Mara Nitu, MD, was named chief medical officer of Indianapolis-based Riley Children's Health.

11. Daniel Cancelmi, executive vice president and CFO of Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare, will retire at year's end.

12. Maggie Gill was promoted to group president of Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare's Eastern Group, overseeing Florida, South Carolina and Massachusetts hospital operations.

13. Deepali Narula was promoted to COO of Conifer Health Solutions.

14. Matthew Stone was promoted to group president of Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare's Central Group, overseeing Central and South Texas, Alabama and Tennessee hospital operations.

15. Nicholas Tejeda was promoted to group president of Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare's Western Group, overseeing West Texas, Northern California and Orange County-Los Angeles hospital operations.

16. Brett Brodnax, president and CEO of United Surgical Partners International is retiring at year's end. 

17. Andy Johnston returned to USPI as its chief administrative officer and is expected to be promoted once Mr. Brodnax retires. 

18. Roger Davis, president and CEO of Conifer Health Solutions, is retiring at the end of the first quarter of 2023. 

19. Bryan Forry was promoted to CFO of Conifer Health Solutions.

20. Dr. Nat'e Guyton, MSN, RN, was named COO of San Francisco-based Dignity Health's California Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles.

21. Theresa Guenther, interim CEO of Avera Creighton (Neb.) Hospital, was promoted to the post permanently.

22. Sean Ahern was named COO of Newburyport, Mass.-based Anna Jaques Hospital.

23. Julie Panepinto, MD, was named director of the division of blood diseases and resources for the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute.

24. Joe Camillus was selected as COO of Boston Medical Center.

25. Christy Maraone was appointed vice president of marketing and corporate affairs of Houston-based HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division.

26. Thomas Bowden was named president of Rockledge (Fla.) Regional Medical Center. 

27. Stan Holm is no longer president and CEO of Olathe (Kan.) Health now that the health system has become part of the University of Kansas Health System.

28. Steven Starr, MD, was named interim chief medical officer of North Kansas City (Mo.) Hospital. 

29. April Kranz, MSN, was appointed chief nursing officer of Conway (Ark.) Regional Health System.

30. Lori Boisjoli was named senior vice president and CIO of Burlington-based University of Vermont Health Network.

31. Michelle Krause, MD, was named senior vice chancellor for Little Rock-based University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Health and CEO of UAMS Medical Center.

32. Ahmed Abuabdou, MD, was tapped as the new chief clinical officer of Little Rock-based University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Medical Center. 

33. Daniel Wright, BSN, RN, chief nursing officer of Framingham, Mass.-based MetroWest Medical Center, turned in his resignation.

34. Steve Gordon was named interim CEO of Claremont, N.H.-based Valley Regional Hospital.

35. Rhonda Curry was named chief marketing and communications officer of Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of University of Miami Health System.

36. Melissa Hall, MSN, RN, was named chief nursing officer and vice president of clinical affairs at Prince Frederick, Md.-based CalvertHealth.

37. Jessica Hoover joined Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City as vice president of operations.

38. Tony Keene is no longer CEO of Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Mo.
