Boston Medical Center names COO

Joe Camillus has been selected as COO of Boston Medical Center, a 514-bed safety-net hospital, according to a Jan. 18 news release shared with Becker’s.

Mr. Camillus is a veteran of BMC.

He joined the hospital in 2011 and most recently served as senior vice president of operations and professional services, according to the release.

He also previously was an administrative director in emergency medicine at Boston-based Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

“Joe has led many successful initiatives at BMC to increase patient access and improve patient experience,” Alastair Bell, MD, president of Boston Medical Center Health System, said in the release. “We are excited to have him expand his role as chief operating officer, where he will further support BMC’s ambitious goals in growth, innovation, performance excellence and health equity.”

BMC is a founding partner of the BMC Health System.
