The National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute named Julie Panepinto, MD, a pediatric hematologist, the director of the division of blood diseases and resources.
Dr. Panepinto stepped into her role Jan. 15, according to a Jan. 17 news release from the organization. Previously, she served as the acting director after former division director Keith Hoots, MD, stepped down in April.
