Ms. Guenther was named interim CEO in late September as Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Avera Health searched for a leader to oversee both Avera Creighton and O’Neill, Neb.-based Avera St. Anthony’s Hospital.

Now, Avera is searching for a separate CEO for its St. Anthony’s Hospital, according to a Jan. 18 news release shared with Becker’s. Ms. Guenther will split her time between Creighton Hospital and Yankton, S.D.-based Avera Sacred Heart Hospital, where she still serves as vice president of quality. Some of her duties at Sacred Heart Hospital will be redistributed to give her more time at Creighton.

“Theresa has been doing an incredible job as the Avera Creighton CEO on an interim basis,” Doug Ekeren, regional president and CEO for the Avera Sacred Heart region, said in the release. “Additionally, she already has a Nebraska nursing home administrator license, which has helped us with management of the Avera Creighton Care Centre.”

At the Becker's 11th Annual IT + Revenue Cycle Conference: The Future of AI & Digital Health, taking place September 14–17 in Chicago, healthcare executives and digital leaders from across the country will come together to explore how AI, interoperability, cybersecurity, and revenue cycle innovation are transforming care delivery, strengthening financial performance, and driving the next era of digital health.
