18 women making moves in healthcare

The following executive moves made by women have been reported by or shared with Becker's since Jan. 13:

1. Shefali Mookencherry, former chief information security officer of Warrenville, Ill.-based Edward-Elmhurst Health, will join University of Illinois at Chicago in the same role Jan. 23.

2. Cathy Edmisten, RN, was named CEO of HCA Florida South Shore Hospital in Sun City Center. 

3. Roxanne Ruppel was selected as Salem (Mass.) Hospital's next president.

4. Ellen Moloney was named president and COO of Newton (Mass.)-Wellesley Hospital.

5. Elaine Cox, MD, was named chief physician executive for Indianapolis-based Riley Children's Health.

6. Mara Nitu, MD, was named chief medical officer of Indianapolis-based Riley Children's Health.

7. Maggie Gill was promoted to group president of Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare's Eastern Group, overseeing Florida, South Carolina and Massachusetts hospital operations.

8. Deepali Narula was promoted to COO of Conifer Health Solutions.

9. Dr. Nat'e Guyton, MSN, RN, was named COO of San Francisco-based Dignity Health's California Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles.

10. Theresa Guenther, interim CEO of Avera Creighton (Neb.) Hospital, was promoted to the post permanently.

11. Julie Panepinto, MD, was named director of the division of blood diseases and resources for the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute.

12. Christy Maraone was appointed vice president of marketing and corporate affairs of Houston-based HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division.

13. April Kranz, MSN, was appointed chief nursing officer of Conway (Ark.) Regional Health System.

14. Lori Boisjoli was named senior vice president and CIO of Burlington-based University of Vermont Health Network.

15. Michelle Krause, MD, was named senior vice chancellor for Little Rock-based University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Health and CEO of UAMS Medical Center.

16. Rhonda Curry was named chief marketing and communications officer of Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of University of Miami Health System.

17. Melissa Hall, MSN, RN, was named chief nursing officer and vice president of clinical affairs at Prince Frederick, Md.-based CalvertHealth.

18. Jessica Hoover joined Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City as vice president of operations.
